Arian Nicole

Shamirrah Hill, formerly known as Shamirrah Hardin, is a professional performing arts coordinator with over 15 years of experience. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Howard University (with a concentration in Directing) and a Master’s degree in Educational Theatre from New York University. She is the founder and CEO of True Stages Theatre Company, a company that has produced powerful live stage plays and hosted a number of performance-based events for artists and arts supporters in New York City. She is also the founder of Artists for Justice NYC, a New York City based arts activism group that advances the Black Lives Matter movement through “performance protests.” Shamirrah is experienced in building curriculum for new courses and developing new performing arts programs in various settings. For three and a half years, she served as a full time performing arts teacher and program developer at Newark Collegiate Academy, where she worked with inner city high school students in Newark, New Jersey. She has performed throughout the country as an actress, dancer, mime & spoken word artist and has trained several actors, dancers, mimes, steppers and poets of various ages through one on one coaching, group sessions, workshops, after school programs, and semester long courses. She is also a playwright with work that has been produced and performed n Washington DC and New York City for sold out audiences. Shamirrah specializes in using performing arts courses to get students out of their comfort zones, increase self-confidence, and promote growth and positive risk taking in all aspects of life. Shamirrah also specializes in using the performing arts to communicate spiritual and inspirational messages of faith, healing and freedom. Her captivating & thought-provoking spoken word perfomances are known to wow people into a loss of words and bring people to tears. Her boldness and belief in authenticity lead her to bear her soul on stage every time, which is what her fans love about her.
