ADDC was established in August of 1989. Our purpose is to aid and promote the redevelopment, improvement, beautification, and revitalization of downtown Albemarle. The organization is governed by a board of directors selected by Albemarle City Council and consists of a two person staff.

As a non-profit agency our funding is based on community support. We receive funds from the Municipal Service District (MSD), the City of Albemarle, donations, and through fundraising events like the Outdoorsman’s Bonanza. The remaining events and promotions that take place are sponsored events by downtown businesses and private sponsors.
