A.J. Read Science Discovery Center and SUNY Oneonta Planetarium

The Science Discovery Center is a free, hands-on museum for people of all ages and abilities. Our mission is to connect visitors to the joy of scientific discovery through authentic interactive exhibits. Located in the Physical Science Building at SUNY Oneonta, we are open Wednesday-Saturday, 10am-3pm. The SUNY Oneonta Planetarium, located in the basement of Perna Science Building (a short walk from the Center) has been presenting live night-sky shows under its dome for over 50 years. Updated with a digital projection system, the SUNY Oneonta Planetarium can not only show the night sky, but also transport you across our solar system, galaxy and to the very edge of the known universe. The Planetarium hosts Public Nights monthly during the school year, with observing at College Camp Observatory after (weather permitting). In conjunction with the Science Discovery Center, the Planetarium also offers Saturday Matinee shows.
