Meet Executive Chef Adanna Ibe

Adanna Ibe, is a registered dietitian and nutritionist with a degree in clinical nutrition and food service management from Howard University. Her most recent industry experience was as the restaurant manager of Maíson Fahrenheit, the most popular, highly rated, boutique hotel in Lagos, Nigeria. While at Maíson, she revamped the menu to appeal to the hotel’s diverse clientele, trained staff to improve customer service, coordinated meetings and special events, and learned to how to successfully operate a commercial Nigerian kitchen.

Prior to her work in Lagos, Adanna was a lead cook for a 220 bed nursing facility in Hyattsville, Maryland. She was responsible for all meal preparations and meal service in a fully conventional kitchen. She also worked as a food service manager for a nursing facility where she ensured compliance and trained staff according to the Maryland State Dietary Manual and HACCP Guidelines.

As a first generation Nigerian-American, Adanna has developed a thorough understanding of both Nigerian and American cuisines. Her passion for cooking started at the age of 9 and was supported by her mother, a teacher and her uncle, a classically trained chef. While living and working in Nigeria for two years, she got a firsthand experience of its rich culture, food, and traditions.

Adanna has returned to Washington D.C. to actualize her dream of becoming a restaurateur and redefine Nigerian cuisine in America.
