About us:
Ad Astra Play Therapy & Counseling, LLC is a mental health training institute based in Wichita, Ks. Ragan and Bea have presented for the Kansas School Social Work Association, Kansas Association for School Psychologists, Midwest School Social Work Conference, the Association for Play Therapy North Texas Branch and internationally for the Australian Play Therapy Association. Please see the event list for upcoming opportunities or contact us for speaking engagements. We are an approved CE Provider in Kansas for mental health professionals #19-006 and Association for Play Therapy Approved Provider #19-588. Please check with your state licensing board for continuing education requirements and eligibilty.

About the trainers:

Bea Burchill, LSCSW

Bea Burchill, LMSW received her BSW from Wichita State University and then went on to receive her MSW from KU. She has worked in the school setting with grads Pre-K-12. She also has several years of experience working in the domestic violence field. Currently she is the child therapist at StepStone, a domestic violence shelter, working with children of all ages who have experienced intimate partner violence and family trauma. Bea is working towards her clinical license and is accumulating clinical supervision hours. She has also completed the play therapy certificate program and receives play therapy supervision.

Ragan Snyder-Smith, LSCSW, RPT-S

Ragan graduated from Wichita State University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master's degree in Social Work and a Master's degree in Education. She received her Play Therapy Certification from Heartland Play Therapy and is a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor.

Ragan has worked in addictions, foster care and adoptions, private practice, medical social work and psychiatric social work. Currently, Ragan works as a behavior specialist in a public school. She has worked in early childhood, elementary, middle, high school and at an alternative high school setting. She also works part-time for a local non-profit for children with special needs as a Behavior Consultant and also teaches Crisis Intervention classes. Ragan is passionate about school mental health, play therapy and social justice. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, nature, mindfulness, reading, running, yoga & healthy living.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

Cancellations received at least 3 days prior to a scheduled training are refundable. You may reschedule for a future training. Eventbrite fees are not refundable. You may send another attendee in your place.

No shows or missed trainings will receive no refund or credit. It is highly recommended you use a computer with an ethernet connection to access the webinar.

No partial CE credit is available. Attendees must be present the entire duration of the training.

Play therapy continuing education credit will not be awarded to non-mental health professionals.

All trainings are subject to sufficient registration.

Should Ad Astra Play Therapy & Counseling, LLC need to cancel a training due to instructor illness or family emergency or unforeseen circumstance, we will make every attempt to notify paid registrants in a timely manner. All paid registrants will receive a full refund.

Ad Astra Play Therapy & Counseling, LLC only assumes liability for the registration portion of any training. All other costs are the responsibility of the registrant.

No exceptions will be made to these policies.

Ad Astra Play Therapy & Counseling, LLC is fully committed to complying with all legal and ethical responsibilities to be non-discriminatory in promotional activities, program content, and in the treatment of attendees.

While we go to great lengths to assure fair treatment for all and attempt to anticipate problems, we recognize that complaints will arise. When problems do present themselves, we will attempt to alleviate complaints as quickly as possible.

Complaints relative to a speaker, contents of instructional materials being presented, an individual educational style being utilized, or facilities where a training is held should be addressed with Ragan Snyder, Owner of Ragan Snyder, LSCSW, LLC who will attempt to resolve the matter as expeditiously as possible.
