The Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Chicago Area Law Foundation (“AABA Law Foundation”) was established in February 2009, and is a charitable and educational affiliate of AABA.

The purpose of the AABA Law Foundation is to organize charitable and educational activities, including, but not limited to the:

(i) granting of scholarships to law students, and

(ii) funding or contributing towards grants and fellowships for attorneys working in not-for-profit organizations serving the needs of the Chicago-area Asian Pacific American community.

As part of achieving its goals, each year the AABA Law Foundation will award scholarships to law students who have demonstrated a commitment to serving the needs of the Chicago-area Asian Pacific American community and who will continue to serve the needs of the Chicago-area Asian Pacific American community through pro bono, public interest, and/or public service legal work.  In 2016, the AABA Law Foundation intends to award one scholarship for $5,000 to a law student who has exemplified that commitment.  The AABA Law Foundation will be accepting applications for its 2016-2017 scholarship from November 1, 2016 – May 1, 2017.
