The mission of FIRST GENERATION is to educate, empower and advocate for all people living in under-resourced, underserved, urban communities. We will accomplish this through community outreach, youth mentoring, business education and financial literacy. We will also engage in character and service projects, culturally responsive teaching and experiential learning based on the unique experiences of the people from the communities. FIRST GENERATION affirms that racism is a persistent problem in our society and supports the mission for inclusiveness and racial equity. We will assemble a team of servant leaders dedicated to justice and committed to growth within the communities that need it the most.
