T.C. Elder Community Health Leadership Academy

The Community Health Leadership Academy is rooted in the vision and legacy of its founder, Thereasea Clark Elder, BSN, RN, and aims to be the leading contributor for equitably training community members and lay health leaders in prevention, policy, and leadership development. It was established to support individuals and faith-based organizations in Mecklenburg County's Village HeartBEAT program network who are working to improve cardiovascular health risk factors.

Over the years, the T.C. Elder Academy offerings have expanded to include prevention of other chronic and communicable diseases, as well as mental health and wellness. Educational offerings are provided in partnership with a network of local faith-based and community-based organizations.
