Gus Penaranda is the CEO/President of Unity Chamber of Commerce, New Jersey's only active statewide LGBTQ+ chamber. Mr. Penaranda is one of the architects that made New Jersey the only state in the country that legally recognizes LGBTQ+ owned businesses and has been the driving force in making sure the LGBTQ+ community is welcomed at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This event is one of many that have been planned for the World Cup event including the Countdown to the World Cup @ NJIT, After the Applause, a Legacy Discussion at St. Benedict's Prep in Newark and the Inaugural NY Cosmos Pride Match at Hinchliffe Stadium in Paterson, NJ. This FIFA Pride Match Viewing Party is the largest LGBTQ+ World Cup event being held just a few hundred feet from MetLife Stadium, the host of the Final World Cup Match July 19, 2026.
