How to set up delayed delivery with Eventbrite Music

Delayed delivery makes it so PDF tickets for completed orders can be accessed closer to the date of your event and not at the time of purchase. With this setup, it's important that you DO NOT disable the mobile delivery method so attendees can select it at the time of purchase. Any orders completed with mobile disabled (or not chosen as the delivery method by the attendee during registration) will not qualify for delayed delivery — instead, direct attendees to Will Call to pick up tickets at your event.

In this article

  • 1. Go to your Event Dashboard.
  • 2. Go to Tickets.
  • 3. Enable the mobile delivery method.
  • 4. Go to "Order Confirmation" (under Order Options).
  • 5. Remove the check for "Include printable tickets in all orders" to disable paper tickets for your event.
  • 6. Customize the message that appears on confirmation emails.
  • 7. Click Save Settings (at the bottom of the page).
  • 8. Return to Order Confirmation and enable paper tickets.
  • 9. Email your attendees (and include the mobile ticket).

1. Go to your Event Dashboard.

Log in to your Eventbrite account. Then go to Manage my events and select your event.

2. Go to Tickets.

3. Enable the mobile delivery method.

Click the three-dot overflow menu icon to the right of your ticket and choose Edit. Then click Advanced Settings (under the Sales End field). You should see Delivery Method with the following options:

  • Mobile - paper tickets (PDF) ARE available for attendees to download, print, or view in the Eventbrite attendee app.

  • Will Call - paper tickets (PDF) ARE NOT available for attendees to download, print, or view in the Eventbrite attendee app. Attendees should go to Will Call at your event to pick up tickets.

NOTE: This step is very important and ensures delayed delivery is respected for any orders placed. Please make sure to enable the mobile delivery method for any tickets receiving delayed delivery.

4. Go to "Order Confirmation" (under Order Options).

5. Remove the check for "Include printable tickets in all orders" to disable paper tickets for your event.

PRO TIP: You can also use the drop-down menu under Additional Settings to turn off paper tickets for specific ticket types where delayed delivery is offered.

6. Customize the message that appears on confirmation emails.

Scroll to Customize Email and customize the message that appears on order confirmation emails. This is your chance to explain:

  • Why paper tickets aren't included

  • When attendees can expect to have access to their ticket

  • Where to pick up tickets at your event

  • Any other relevant information attendees should be aware of after purchasing tickets

7. Click Save Settings (at the bottom of the page).

8. Return to Order Confirmation and enable paper tickets.

When you’re ready to send tickets to attendees, return to Order Confirmation and remove any messaging that noted tickets would be delivered closer to the event. Then enable paper tickets and save changes.

Do this for all tickets or only those you specifically disabled to support delayed delivery.

9. Email your attendees (and include the mobile ticket).

  1. Select Emails to Attendees (under Manage Attendees).

  2. Delete the pre-filled text in the Message field and enter custom text.

We recommend keeping things short, simple, friendly, and direct. The most important thing is to make sure to select the box to Include event details and a link to print tickets. This ensures tickets are attached to the email and completes the delayed delivery setup.
