Set the payout country and currency for your event

Setting your event’s currency determines the currency used for attendee payments and your event payout. After someone buys a ticket, you can’t change your event’s currency unless you refund all orders. You can still change the payout country to another country that supports your chosen currency.

NOTE: Eventbrite is unable to exchange currency.

Setting your currency

If you haven't sold tickets yet, follow these steps to set up your currency. You’ll need to create a paid ticket type before you can set up your payment options.

  1. Go to Events and select your event.

  2. Select Payments & tax, then select Payment options.

  3. Set the payout country to the country where your bank is located.

  4. Set the currency that attendees will use to buy tickets.

  5. Select Save.

If your bank's country is not included in the Payout country dropdown, you won’t be able to use Eventbrite for paid ticket sales. For certain currency/payout country combinations, PayPal is the only available payment processor.

EXAMPLE: If your bank is in the U.S. but you need to sell tickets in Euros, you need to use PayPal for payment processing.

Common issues with currency settings

If the currency for your event is incorrect, refer to the following solutions to change it.

Published events

Your event’s currency can’t be changed if a ticket has been sold. If you've already sold tickets, consider refunding all orders. Then, update your currency settings to the correct payout country and currency.

After updating, your attendees can re-register through your event listing.
