On this one of a kind, behind the scenes music tour, we take you deep into the beating heart of cumbia villera (cumbia from the slums of Buenos Aires).

How did a rhythm born on the Colombian coast, a meeting of African, Indigenous and European cultures, become Latin America’s most popular folklore music? How and why did it transform and mutate up to Mexico and all the way down to Argentina? How did social, political and economic shifts turn it into one of Argentina’s most widely recognized and most scorned musical scenes?

On this cumbia tour we’ll meet one its key players who will be our guide and guru for the night. We’ll start with a brief introduction where our bilingual translator-guide will join us for a complimentary beer. From there we’ll drive deep into the heart of where cumbia villera was born to meet a young producer in his DIY home studio. After we’ll head to an intimate gathering featuring typical Argentine street food where we’ll deepen our knowledge on how and why cumbia villera came into being. And for the last stop we’ll take you to a cumbia nightclub with the sound and scene full blast with thousands of screaming fans, viewed from a VIP balcony or in the middle of the crowd.

You know how Argentines can have the tendency to live, breathe and die by a certain credo (think football, politics, and everything else under the sun)... Wait until you see that passion come alive in music.

Timing:
This is a 6 hour tour with 4 stops. We will finish at the cumbia club where you can stay as long as you want, we won't judge!
