Zoom Workshop: Exposing Middle School Students to College Preparation

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc, Northern Virginia Chapter’s Education Committee presents “College 101: Starting Your Path to College.” This virtual workshop will expose middle school students and their parent(s) or guardian to the college preparation process. The workshop is free and open to all; however, registration is required in advance via EventBrite (https://ncbwnovacollegeprep.eventbrite.com). Registration closes on January 21, 2021. An event reminder that includes the meeting Zoom link will be sent to registrants a day prior to the event.
The guest speaker for the workshop is Tamara M. Baptiste-Wallace, Founder & Owner of The College Application Specialist. Topics of discussion will include:
What colleges are looking for
What you can do now, while in middle school, to prepare
What questions you should be asking (and why)
What are the different tests you might have to take
Upcoming college fairs students may participate in to become exposed to college
