Event description
Four of the best comedians from the Austin, TX comedy scene come to Lincoln for one night only!

About this event

MARTIN HENN:

Martin Henn has been making crowds throughout the Midwest laugh at a polite and reasonable volume for years. His comedy could be described as "setups" followed by "punchlines". Martin uses a healthy mix of anecdotes, wordplay and character work to keep the audience interested. (He won't use crowd work because one time a lady tried to fight him and she was MUCH BIGGER than he was).

Martin was a semi-finalist for Madison's funniest comic 2017, performed on The Altercation Comedy Festival in Austin, Texas, and has opened for national acts such as Jerrod Carmichael, Ron Funches and Nate Bargatze.

COLTON DOWLING:

A high-energy comic with a background in improv. The road to comedy for Dowling was circuitous to say the least; he modeled for a time but the runway ultimately wasn’t to his taste, so he moved to video editing and graphic design for the shows, and at one point found himself designing underwear. “Every fun fact about me wasn’t my choice,” he jokes, claiming to fall “ass backward” into each new adventure, versus following a well-defined plan. The journey that landed him in Los Angeles, then Austin, is full of similar incidences of happenstance and transformation, from bombing at his first stage appearance, to finding a long-lived passion in improv.

He talks, in turns, of living as a “wine mom” in San Diego (commuting to classes at UCB LA), styling hair, playing competitive rugby (and then gay competitive rugby), then pivots smoothly to his love of cartoons. He has been featured at comedy clubs and festivals across the US. You can find him often at the much loved Creek and Cave in Austin.

ANDRE RICKS:

Originally from Lubbock and currently living in Austin, TX, Andre Ricks has been doing comedy for a 4 years and plans on doing it until he's covered in dirt or Jennifer Garner tells him to move in with her. Having been a fan of comedy since he was little, he got most of his comedic senses from Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry, and the 3 stooges. Growing up in West Texas being a comedian wasn't really a thing his peers talked about so he never thought he would do it as a career until 2017. He's performed all across the world now from London to LA and plans on seeing more of the world on the back of these jokes.

KANDACE MEDINA:

The self described "Dumpster Fire of Austin Comedy", Kandace Medina hit the Austin comedy scene hard and in a short period of time has established herself as breakout comedy voice in that scene.

Organizer Brad Stewart

Organizer of ZOOLARIOUS PRESENTS: AUSTIN COMEDY!

Brad Stewart began his comedy career shortly after moving to Los Angeles from Nebraska in 1995 and winning 1st place in comedy contest. He beat out hundreds of comedians to win $500. Brad used it to register his car in California.

Since that time Brad has performed at many different clubs and theaters all over the country to rave reviews. From The Nokia Theater in Los Angeles to the Hilton Casino in Atlantic City, Brad has entertained many diverse audiences with his high energy, observational style of humor.

In early 2010 Brad had the honor of becoming a favorite opening act for comedy legend Joan Rivers. Joan said Brad is "so talented and a joy to work with" Brad has also opened for The Temptations, Jon Lovitz, Keith Sweat, Rob Schneider, The O'Jays, Barry Manilow, and 80's rockers Loverboy.
In 2012 Brad was picked by TV Icon Marlo Thomas as a "Comedian to Watch" for the Huffington Post.

Brad's comedy is a mix of his observations about life and his love/hate relationship with pop culture. Music is a big love of Brad's and a lot of his comedy comes from his frustrations with the state of popular music which should be relatable to anyone with ears.
