Zongzi Making Workshop — Learn to Make Traditional Hong Kong–Style Guo Zhen
Overview
Join us for an intimate, hands-on cooking class where you’ll learn to make authentic Hong Kong–style Guo Zheng Zong (裹蒸糉) — the giant, luxurious festival dumpling known for its rich flavor, silky texture, and beautiful leaf wrapping.
This is the Cantonese banquet-style zongzi, stuffed generously with:
- 🐖 Pork belly
- 🫘 Split mung beans
- 🍚 Fragrant sticky rice
- 🧈 Lard for richness
- 🍃 Wrapped in lotus leaves & bamboo leaves for that iconic aroma
You’ll learn every step from washing and prepping the leaves, seasoning ingredients, folding technique, shaping the zong, tying the string properly, and traditional cooking tips that give Guo Zheng Zong its signature softness and fragrance.
