Event description
Join us to learn about Hypocreales fungi -they're famous as insect parasites (and we'll discuss that!), but what more do they do?

About this Event

Fungi in the order Hypocreales are woven throughout our lives in ways both beneficial and detrimental. They are the source of multiple lifesaving medicines, they provide protection against pest insects, and they grab our attention with their sometimes dramatic effects on host behavior. But they are also capable of causing devastating crop losses and represent emerging human diseases.

Join us for this free (donation-only) online seminar as Dr. Ryan Kepler discusses how we can use molecular tools to understand the evolution of this diverse group of fungi and how we can use our new understanding to improve our interactions with this fascinating group of fungi.
