ZNE Builder Innovations Webinar Pt. 2: Family-Owned Production Takes on ZNE
Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM (PDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Join us for Part Two of our Net Zero Energy builder webinar series, developed in partnership with the Net-Zero Energy Coalition. This series will focus on cutting-edge net-zero energy projects across North America. The builders and projects featured represent different climate zones, product types, and technologies. Our builders share their reasons for building NZE, project costs, new technologies, and business implications. This webinar brings other builders information that can help jump start their projects, gives industry stakeholders an in-depth look at what it takes to complete ZNE projects, and connects attendees with experts who can make their projects a reality.
In Part Two of the series, we will learn about the path De Young Properties - a mid-sized, family run, semi-custom builder in the San Joaquin Valley of California - has taken to achieve Zero Net Energy. Brandon De Young will share how his family's production-scale company overcame the challenges associated with making significant changes to the way they build. Each one of De Young's homes have exceeded the minimum California energy code requirements (Title 24) by at least 30% since 2010. In 2011, De Young was the first builder in their market to offer Zero Net Electric as an option for several of their floorplans, and in 2013, De Young completed their first Zero Net Energy home. This concept home is now open to the public for demonstration.
