Description

Zinfandel: Stories from Napa Valley

An exquisite afternoon presented in two parts will take place at CIA at Copia, the ultimate Napa Valley destination for experiencing the world of food, wine, art, and community. Your exploration begins with a seated panel presentation, discussion, and tasting featuring four leaders of Napa Valley Zinfandel. Then, adjourn to a walk-around tasting of wines from up to 30 Napa Valley wineries, which will be paired with bites from talented CIA chefs.

Tasting Seminar – Extremely Rare and Coveted
Napa Valley has been growing Zinfandel grapes since around 1851, but only a small percentage of grapes now grown in Napa Valley are Zinfandel. Yet, passionate Napa Valley growers and winemakers have made a commitment to this cherished grape, sourced to a significant extent from vines planted long before Prohibition, which are in their own way historic landmarks, as well as portals into California’s agrarian past. Today, Zinfandel wines rival the very best of Napa Valley—bar none. During the conversation, these renowned Zinfandel specialists will prove that Napa Valley produces some of the most terroir-driven, nuanced, and balanced wines California wine country has to offer.
