Event description

Description

Men and women are inextricably linked to each other and the degree of success and happiness we all experience; our ability to collaborate, inspire each other and enjoy working together determines the quality and nature of our country, communities, organizations and families.

We started the #RRTs by inviting men to get together for conversations on how we can eradicate violence against women and girls in Canada. We had many stirring and spirited conversations on many aspects of this goal. It became clear to me that while provocative and meaningful, the focus on the roundtables may be more productive if focused more narrowly. This fall we will focus our Bohm-style roundtables on how women and men may communicate more effectively with each other to accomplish more while producing happy and healthy environments for work, play and engagement.

We have now opened up the conversations so men and women can engage together in dialogue because while we want men to be able to communicate openinly on gender issues which have historically been the territory of women, for us to dig deeper into a few of the ideas that are surfacing we need to hear form women.

You'll find dates from September 2017 through February 2018 and more will be added; click on the "Select a Date" for your options and select the date or dates you want to attend. Space is limited. We've returned to a 7 AM time slot; we have had the best attendance at this time of day.

The roundtable conversations (#RRTs), with 5-12 participants in each, provide an opportunity to expore how we can bridge the gaps in gender-communication. Like any complex human issue we need to experiment to find the spots for intervention. So, that's what we will do - with your help.

Three ways you can help:

  1. Join us and lend your voice and ideas;
  2. Promote us on social media or directly to your friends;
  3. Introduce us to organizations for sponsorship or in-house events - WE PLAN TO START HOLDING #RRTs in organizations as of January 2018.

Regardless of your perspective and opinion you are welcome. Each roundtable conversation will be professionally hosted (facilitated) and while we believe you will be inspired to do more after the conversation, there is no obligation. You just need to join us with an open mind and heart willing to explore together.

Join our facebook group and add your name to our mailing list

By registering for one of the #RRTs you are automatically added to our mailing list - of course you can unsubscribe whenever you like. While on our mailing list you will receive: reminders of future #RRTs, next level events for past participants and eventually a newsletter with updates on past conversations.

PLEASE NOTE: unless otherwise noted here all events are in classroom 157 at Rotman.

WE WILL SERVE COFFEE AND MUFFINS EACH MORNING AND WELCOME A CONTRIBUTION TO THE COFFEE FUND AS YOU ARE ABLE.
