Description
Learn from an expert how to make cold processed soap properly and safely, in the convenience of your own kitchen. Our Soap-making 101 Class takes the mystery out of creating your very own batch of soap, using ingredients found in your home.
This is a hands-on class for beginners, using a basic soap recipe. Due to the nature of the instruction and the types of ingredients used, class size is limited to 8 students.
This 3 hour class includes:
- Hands-on, basic soapmaking instruction
- All ingredients necessary to make your own 1 pound batch of soap (4 bars) which you will take home after class
- Use of equipment and materials to make your soap (the wooden mold is yours to keep)
- Safety procedures for working with caustic chemicals (lye)
- Printed booklet with detailed instructions (so you can do it again at home
- Learn how essential oils/fragrances/colors affect your soap batch and how/when to incorporate them in your recipe
- Oil properties sheet - Soapmaking terms and definitions
- List of online resources, Trusted recipes
- Question & Answer period (time permitting)
$45 - all materials will be provided
While children are typically welcome at many of our other types of classes, we ask that they please remain at home during this class.
