Back by popular demand, we are pleased to offer 10 maker tech day sessions for educators in the 2016/2017 school year!
This hands-on workshop is held at Zen Maker Lab in North Vancouver, the leading maker lab in the Lower Mainland with a focus on kids and educators.
This is geared towards teachers, librarians and administrators in K-12 although educators from post-secondary or others interested are welcome. No previous maker experience required, just a desire to learn and have fun!
There are four sessions that you rotate around to during the day.
1. 3D design, 3D printing and 3D scanning - design and print a 3D model and get scanned for a mini-me 3D print
2. Intro to electronics - build a circuit board
3. Arduino project - laser cut and program an LED display
4. Coding & the Mirobot - learn to code with a drawing robot
Over lunch, there will be a presentation and moderated discussion on how to integrate maker tech into the new BC curriculum.
All supplies are included in the workshop price (retail value of approximately $25-$50). You will bring lots of cool projects home. Lunch can be optionally purchased. You can also purchase a Mirobot at a discounted price ($75 vs. the regular $100-$125 regular retail price) to bring home with you.
