Ladies!! It's AUDITION TIME!!
Auditions will take place Monday April 17th
Location: Latin Dancer studio 1057 W Broad Street, Falls Church, VA.
Details about the team: Rehearsals are held every Monday from 9-11pm at the Latin Dancer Studio.
Join the Zafire DC family as you get to train with Bebe Alanis who is the director of Zafire Ladies DC and train with Edwin Alvarez pro dancer and director of Zafire DC Project. You also get to train here in the DMV with Zafire Dance Company as Arlette Guerra herself has come to run rehearsal and teach us the choreography. We are also fortunate to have train here with Carlos Hernandez, Marleny Espinal, Jose Serrano, and Jariel Garcia. You will also have access to our weekly Salsa classes on Thursdays by Edwin Alvarez, which includes shines and turnpatterns to help you become a better follower, learn footwork, timing, tension, and spinning. In addition, as part of the Zafire DC family, you get a big discount to belong in both Zafire DC and Zafire Ladies DC teams.

The team is directed by Bebe Alanis Uy, bio below:
Bebe Alanis UY graduated from Barry University Miami FL, Department of Art Design in 2011, and despite having previous degree in Art Design from her home country Cyprus/ Turkey, she always wanted to pursue her passion, dancing, since she was a child. Bebe A. Uy was born in Istanbul Turkey, and is the the only child of her parents. While she was a young girl her family realized her ability and skills about dancing so she attended ballet classes and improved her contemporary dance composition at an early age. Later on she was interested in Jazz, Traditional Folk Dance, Belly Dance, Modern Dance and finally Latin Dance. She attended congresses all around the world and attended workshops of some of the best dancers in the scene. This helped her to improve her technique, creativity and skills. She has also performed in Europe at several Dance Congresses. Currently Bebe Alanis UY is conducting Dance Classes and Choreography in United States and Europe. Her passion is to transfer her dance knowledege and experience to others. In her own words "if you can walk, you can dance." In April 2016 she joined Zafire DC Project by assisting our director Edwin Alvarez in our weekly NY style Salsa on2 classes. In August, she launched and directed the Zafire Ladies DC performance team, a choreography by Arlette Guerra.
Edwin Alvarez bio:
Edwin Alvarez born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic began his dancing career shortly after moving to NYC in 2004. He started taking mambo on 2 classes from Eddie Torres for about 3 years. In 2008 he joined Vitico La Magia dancers then in 2010 he joined Karisma Dance Company where in both he began performing at various events locally and internationally. In 2013 he joined Zafire Dance Company until present where he performed at various congresses such as NYC, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Tampa, San Francisco, Houston, LA, DC, Boston, Toronto, Punta Cana and Santo Domingo. Over the years he was fortune to dance on stage for famous bands such as El Gran Combo, Eddy Palmieri, Jose Alberto El Canario, and Frankie Morales. He has also for over the course of 9 years been a salsa instructor at different locations and venues, danced on stage at a weekly club venue in NJ named Bliss where his partners Jesenia Peralta and Candy Mena danced with him weekly. He has also danced in various TV shows in Dominican Republic as well as taken part of La India's video tribute to El Gran Combo in NYC. In September 2015, he created Zafire DC Project performing team in the DC area as well as providing the community with weekly NY style Salsa On2 classes.
