Event description

Description

Join us on Thursday March 14 at 6 pm for an evening of discussion on Russian Cosmism apropos of our current exhibition Immortality for All: A Film Trilogy on Russian Cosmism by New York-based artist Anton Vidokle.

Conversation will be led by Peter Bowyer and will focus on Nikolai Fedorov’s “Philosophy of the Common Task.”

Please get your ticket in advance and, once registered, we’ll send you the reading(s) via email.

Peter Bowyer is a Toronto-based sculptor and installation artist whose work examines emerging areas of historical and contemporary space; how we inhabit space and how it occupies us. He has exhibited nationally and internationally since the late seventies with solo exhibitions at the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery (1995), The Art Gallery of York University (2003), The Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art (2007) and elsewhere. Recently his work has appeared in 'More than two (let it make itself)' at the Power Plant (2013), 'A Call for Drawings' at BAK in Utrecht, NL (2015), 'Form Follows Fiction' at the Museum of the University of Toronto (2016) and 'Premonition' at Richard Rhodes Dupont Projects (2017). He teaches in the Faculty of Art at OCAD University.
