Description

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN TEACHING TALENTED HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS NEXT SUMMER? COME TO OUR STUDY BREAK ON DECEMBER 11! THERE WILL BE INSOMNIA COOKIES!

We are Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS), a high school academic enrichment and leadership development program that is administered by Yale’s Office of International Affairs. Each summer, YYGS hosts over 1,500 high school students from around the world, representing over 120 countries, across seven unique two-week sessions. This summer, we’re hiring more than 100 undergraduate students (Instructors) and graduate students (Lead Instructors) to teach, mentor, and supervise students both inside and outside the classroom.

The 2018 session dates are listed below and include 2 days of mandatory orientation at the beginning of each session. Instructional staff can teach in 1, 2, or 3 sessions during the summer.

Applied Science & Engineering – June 15-30, 2018
International Affairs & Security – June 15-30, 2018
Frontiers of Science & Technology – July 6-21, 2018
Sustainable Development & Social Entrepreneurship – July 6-21, 2018
Biological & Biomedical Science – July 25-August 9, 2018
Politics, Law, & Economics – July 25-August 9, 2018
Asia in the 21st Century* – July 23-August 8, 2018

*Please note that Asia in the 21st Century will take place at the Yale Beijing Center in Beijing, China.

Within this role, you would have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills, design your own curriculum, and teach and mentor high schoolers in a variety of different settings, all while receiving competitive compensation, meals, and housing (if needed)! Candidates with an interest in teaching and mentoring high school students from diverse backgrounds, as well as working collaboratively to run a successful and memorable program, are encouraged to apply.

Please attend one of our information sessions to learn more about YYGS and get your questions answered. We look forward to seeing you there!
