A 40-hr Domestic Violence Peer Counselor Training designed for community members to learn the dynamics of domestic violence.

Where: The training will be taking place via Zoom. Once participants fully register, they will get access to the Zoom information
Time: 9AM to 1PM
Training Fee: $250 Students/Non Profit Partners
$300 Early Registration (Deadline: August 1, 2022)
$350 Registration
Please note that purchase of one ticket will suffice for all days of the training.
Training Overview:
As required by California Evidence Code Section §1037.1(a)(1), all employees and volunteers who will be providing direct client services at any domestic violence service agency are required to receive 40 hours of training on domestic violence. At the end of the training, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. This certificate does not act as a license to provide domestic violence services.
Topics include:
- Dynamics of domestic violence
- What it means to experience domestic violence
- Working with survivors/victims from different cultures and backgrounds
- Peer counseling and active listening skills
- YWCA Glendale & Pasadena’s services and programs
- Legal options for survivors/victims
- Practicing self-care as advocates
Important Information:
Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Applicants will be accepted until the training is full. Purchase of one ticket is for ALL training dates.
Space is limited.
Participants must attend all the training days in their entirety in order to receive the Certificate of Completion.
Participants must arrive on time.
