Event description

Description

Please join YWCA DE as we host Dr. Ibram Kendi, NY times best selling author of How to be An Antiracist. This is our yearly Stand Againt Racism event as well as Part 1 of our Action forum. Ibram X. Kendi is the National Book Award-winning author of Stamped From The Beginning: A Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America and How to Be an Antiracist. His relentless and passionate research puts into question the notion of a post-racial society and opens readers' and audiences' eyes to the reality of racism in America today. Kendi's lectures are sharp, informative, and hopeful, serving as a strong platform for any institution's discussions on racial discrimination.

Please consider making a donation, however the tickets are free.

This event is sponsored by Westminster Presbytarian Church, JP Morgan Chase, and Delaware Community Foundation.

Delaware Hummnaites are providing 100 free signed copies of Dr. Kendi's NY Times best seller, How to Be An Antiracist. This will be on a first come basis at the event until supplies run out. We will be hosting book conversations over the summer so be sure to sign up to be part of those conversations.
