VANCOUVER'S BEST + BRIGHTEST FOOD CARTS AND RESTAURANTS CONVERGE AT THE CITY’S BIGGEST ANNUAL OUTDOOR FOOD EVENT

YVR Food Fest’s flagship event, offering up an affordable tasting menu items that allows one to sample as many different food carts and restaurants as they can handle. This feeding frenzy will be complemented by pairings from the top breweries, wineries, and distilleries in the province. At the end of the event, attendees will vote on their favourites and winners will be declared in a variety of categories.

Part of YVR FOOD FEST
Taking place over the span of five days (From Tues June 27 until Monday July 3), YVR FOOD FEST is all about celebrating fun and diversity in Vancouver’s food scene, with programming that ranges from the refined to the raucous. Featuring: a TED Talks style speaker series on food; a massive Canada Day BBQ with live bands; a long table dinner featuring top international chefs; the largest outdoor brunch in the history of the city; and our signature event The Street Food Showdown, which brings together the top food trucks and restaurants in the city to compete for bragging rights about who makes the best street food in the city.

Consistently named one of the city’s top food events by attendees and critics alike, the weekend-long celebration of food culture in Vancouver and beyond is now in its sixth year.





About YVR FOOD FEST

YYR Food Fest is back for a sixth year and happening over the Canada Day Long Weekend. Featuring new, expansive programming all weekend long at Vancouver’s premiere celebration of food, June 27 - July 3, 2017.

Arrival Agency's summer food festival is back—bigger and better and now happening on the Canada Day Long Weekend. Consistently named one of the city’s top food events by attendees and critics alike, the weekend-long celebration of food culture in Vancouver and beyond is now in its sixth year.

New this year are local and international culinary talent collaborating on a long table dinner, a giant outdoor brunch, and a Canada Day BBQ with live music. This is all in addition to Food For Thought, a food-centric TED Talks-style speaker series, and the festival’s flagship event the Street Food Showdown, a gathering of 80+ food carts, restaurants, wineries and breweries. All of this will take place at the YVR Food Fest site in the Olympic Village (215 West 1st Ave).

Food For Thought
Thursday, June 29 | 6pm - 9pm
At Fox Cabaret (2321 Main St)

Food For Thought is speaker series of genuine and personal stories about food-related topics that engage, provoke, and inspire. Speakers will include chefs, farmers, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders who bring their unique insight to the stage. This event aims to foster dialogue and build community while those at the forefront of the industry share their personal stories. It is also forum that addresses the challenges food culture and its creators face today and will confront in the future. Past speakers have included Trevor Bird (Fable Kitchen), Mauricio Lozano (Faculty Brewing), Vanessa Bourget (Exile Bistro), Hana Etsuko Dethlefsen (Let’s Cooking), and more.



Gather
Tuesday 27 | Wed 28th | Friday, June 30 | 6pm-9pm
At Fayuca (1009 Hamilton St)

Gather is a series of communal dinners that boast some of the city’s top culinary talent cooking alongside visiting culinary stars. These unforgettable meals feature pairings from the province’s top wineries. The dress code may be casual, but the meals will be sumptuous four-star delights. Attendees can come with a group or come alone and leave with new friends. There are three Gather dinners taking place during YVR Food Fest, and there are only 60 tickets available for each one.


Canada Day Cookout & Outdoor Concert
Saturday, July 1 | 12pm-8pm
Celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday! The Canada Day Cookout is a gigantic Austin-style outdoor party with bands, DJs, and amazing BBQ staples and local craft beer.


Street Food Showdown
Sunday, July 2 |11am - 7pm
Upwards of 80 food carts and restaurants will be on hand. Each one will offer up an affordable tasting menu items that allows you to sample as many different food carts and restaurants as you can handle. This feeding frenzy will be complemented by pairings from the top breweries, wineries, and distilleries in the province. At the end of the event, attendees will vote on their favourites and winners will be declared.


The Big Brunch
Monday July 3 | 11am - 3pm
The Big Brunch aims to be the largest outdoor brunch ever in the country. The event will feature every conceivable type of brunch fare from some of the city’s best restaurants and cafés. Also featuring a caesar competition, a breakfast sandwich cook-off, and a cold-brew kegger with local, independent coffee roasters.
