YSI Summer Science Camp 2013 - 3rd or 4th Grade in Fall 2013 (Group C)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
YSI is offering a limited selection of our most popular camps this summer. We encourage everyone to register as soon as possible to ensure that you get the camps that you want.
Group C children must be entering 3rd or 4th grade in Fall 2013.
Camp times: 9:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.
Biology and ecology is as easy as riding a bike! Explore the paved trails in and near Vasona Park and learn about our watershed, local and natural history. Learn riding skills, trail etiquette, safety, bike parts and how to repair a flat tire. Participants must bring their own two-wheel bicycle (no training wheels) and be comfortable riding. YSI cannot provide overnight bike storage.
June 24-28 and July 22-26, Vasona Lake County Park
Learn how police, firefighters, rangers and other law enforcement people use science to solve crimes. Examine evidence under a microscope, use chemistry to identify mysterious substances, and see how they find the facts. Then use your skills to solve a crime.
July 15-19, Vasona Lake County Park and June 24-28, Alum Rock Park
See how fish and other animals that live in water are special. Explore our watershed and examine how its health affects the fish that live here. Take a look at real fish inside and out. Learn how to fish, fishing safety and etiquette, and then go fishing! YSI provides fishing poles.
July 8-12 and July 29-Aug 2, Vasona Lake County Park
Biology will be a blast in this exploration of living things. Search for life both big and small in our creeks, fields, and forests. Find tiny living things in some foods - then eat them! Work with YSI’s animals and learn how to keep them healthy. Grow organisms in jars, pots, and petri dishes. Use the tools of a biologist in experiments, games and hands-on activities.
June 10-14, Vasona Lake County Park and July 15-19, Alum Rock Park
Learn physics while making music, creating and flying airplanes and rockets, and experimenting with magnetism, electricity, and more! Amaze your friends with physics magic tricks.
June 17-21 and Aug 5-9, Vasona Lake County Park and July 8-12, Alum Rock Park

Extended Day Camp (EDC) is offered at our Vasona Lake County Park location only. There is no EDC at our Alum Rock Park location.
