Description

Join YPG for a Planners Pint Night followed by an AICP Exam Info Night!

“First we shape our buildings, then they shape us.” – Winston Churchill

The choices we make as planning and design professionals influence quality of life, sustainability, and perception of public safety. Every aspect from landscaping, to lighting, to land use has a larger role to play in how a community is shaped. Come learn how planners, designers, public health professionals, and law enforcement can collaborate to create safe, sustainable, and livable communities through CPTED (Crime Prevention through Environmental Design) and SafeScape. Paul Zykofsky, Associate Director of the Government Commission will give us an overview of what CPTED and SAFESCAPE are and why young planners should be thinking about these approaches in their daily work.

Speaker: Paul Zykofsky, Assoc. AIA, AICP, Associate Director, Local Government Commission

Date: Thursday, November 29th

Location: Kupros Craft House (1217 21st Street, Sacramento)

Time: 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

*1.0 CM credits pending*
