Yovcho Krushev - Classical Piano Recital at Opera America
Lauded by Sviatoslav Richter as a "truly unmatched musical talent," Maestro Yovcho Krushev rose to prominence as a laureate of the Tchaikovski International Piano Competition in Moscow, Russia and the Viotti International Music Compeitition in Verchelli, Italy. His approximately 1800 concertos and recitals on stages all across Europe, Afrika, Asia and America, have garnered consistent high acclaim from critics, collegues and music afficionados alike. Maestro Krushev is also a distinguished composer, whose works are performed regularly from Berlin to Hong Kong and have become required repertoire at different music competitions, as well as part of conservatory curricula. He holds a Ph. D. in Piano Performance from the National Academy of Music in Sofia, Bulgaria, where he spent 30 years teaching piano, composition and score-reading.
For this concert, Maestro Krushev has curated classical works by the most brilliant representatives of the “Golden Age” of the Classical Piano Art – the 19th Century masters: Beethoven, Chopin, Scriabin and Liszt. His distinguished individual artistic approach to the interpretation of classical works allows the audience to experience the original author's vision in a brand new way.
