Yovcho Krushev - Classical Piano Recital at Opera America

Maestro Yovcho Krushev is a Bulgarian pianist, composer and educator with a career spanning 40 years and hundreds of concerts in countries all over Europe, Asia and Northern Africa, as well as the US.

Fifth Prize winner of the "VIII Tchaikovski International Piano Competition" and recipient of many awards for his contributions to the performing arts, Prof. Krushev has dedicated his life to the art of piano playing. After winning 2nd Prize at the "Viotti International Music Competition" in Verchelli, Italy, he became an internationally recognized artist and began actively touring all over Europe, Northern Africa and Asia.

Maestro Krushev composes in all musical genres and his works are performed on stages all over the world.

Prof. Krushev trains students in the arts of piano performance, composition and orchestral and choral score-reading. Many of those hundreds of young talents are now successful performers and educators themselves.

For this concert, Maestro Krushev has curated classical works by the most brilliant representatives of the “Golden Age” of the Classical Piano Art – the 19th Century masters: Beethoven, Chopin, Scriabin and Liszt. His distinguished individual artistic approach to the interpretation of classical works allows the audience to experience the original author's vision in a brand new way.
