Description

Do you post your work on YouTube? Do you market on Instagram? Are you, or are you trying to become, a social media “influencer”, through use of a blog, YouTube or other sites?

If so, you might be surprised to learn about some of the legal issues you should be aware of.

This workshop will cover :

  • Basics of intellectual property. Who owns what you create? What can you use and re-use on your social media or in your video? Does the content you post on YouTube stay “yours”?

  • What is the DMCA and what is a three strikes policy?

  • How does the FTC regulate your social media use? What is sponsored content?

  • Does advertising or using social media for promotions create any exposure for you?

Panelists:

Brandon J. Huffman, Attorney, Odin Law and Media
Eric Johson - Senior Vice-President, Sound + Engagement, Trailblazer Studios
Eric Huagen - NC-based musican and guitar instructor, and on YouTube!
