YouthServe youth volunteers will be assisting with the annual Santa's Workshop at the YWCA of Central Alabama. "Each year hundreds of families are homeless or in transitional housing are left without a viable means to experience the full joys of the Christmas season as result of hardships. Through this unique event children will have an opportunity to make gifts that they can give to moms, teachers, friends and others in their life circle, and they can even have their picture taken with Santa.Moms are able to “shop” (everything is free) for gifts to give their children."
This is where you come in! YouthServe volunteers will serve from 8:00AM to 12:00PM as either "bag escorts", where volunteers will be assigned to a parent and will assist by carrying her bags of presents & clothing or "craft buddies",with volunteers being paired with a child to assist them with crafts. *All volunteers 12 years & under must be a craft buddy.* Once registered, YouthServe will send you a waiver to have a parent/guardian sign.
Parents can drop off volunteers at 8:00am and pickup at 12:00pm. If a parent plans to volunteer, they must register for a ticket. If a parent needs to stay with the youth volunteer but is not volunteering, they do not need to register themselves. Please contact us if you have any questions.
We cannot wait to see you there! Thank you for serving with us.
