Event description

Description

Kitchen Table Talks, provided by G.O.A.L.S (Greater Options and Assistance for Lifelong Success), are free culturally-sensitive social support groups of 4 to 6 people who identify with the African American experience facilitated by caring, natural helpers from Sacramento County’s African American communities.

GOALS will be hosting a Youth/Parent kitchen table talk on Saturday 4th, 2018 from noon to 2 p.m. located @ 1217 Del Paso Blvd in Sacramento, CA. We welcome you to join us as we talk about bullying, school stress, conflicts, discrimination, and more. Parents are highly encouraged to attend to hear what stressers our children are having and how we can be a support to them. We will discuss everyday stress, how to cope, and how to take care of our mental health. GOALS creates a safe space in culturally familiar ways to help people voice their concerns while being able to network to get support, encouragement, and resources. Our goal is to help reduce the risks of a problem developing into crisis or worst emotional challenges. Please remember no matter how hard life gets you are not alone. Light Refreshments and beverages will be provided & it’s a FREE event. This group is intended for ages 15 years old to 21 years of age and their parents. This group is a TWO PART GROUP and the 2nd Session will be in Feb 2018. Groups tend to fill up fast so please RSVP by emailing me directly at lakisha@goalsforwomen.com, or sign up through eventbrite.
