About this event

Interested in volunteering with YouthLine? Take the first step and attend one of our YouthLine Volunteer Orientations!

At Orientation, current volunteers and YouthLine staff dive in to the three main areas of our program: peer crisis and support services, classroom education and community outreach; and volunteer mentorship and development. We talk about what volunteers do and what the time commitment is; and hear from current volunteers about their experiences in the YouthLine program. At the end, we discuss next steps and hold a Q&A session. We highly encourage you to ask any questions you have!

To RSVP, reserve a ticket to the orientation date that works for you! There is no cost associated with attending orientation or volunteering with us. We hold Volunteer Orientations virtually on the second Thursday of every month from 5:30- 7:30 PM. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must attend orientation with you. All volunteering and training is offered in-person and cannot be done virtually. No exceptions. You must live in the Portland Metro or Central Oregon Tri-County areas to volunteer with us. We hold trainings several times a year in our Portland and Central Oregon locations.

We prioritize applicants from under-represented communities and schools as part of the decision-making process. For those of you graduating from high school in 2022: We are only accepting applications from seniors who have concrete plans to stay in the area after graduation at this time. If you have already attended a virtual Volunteer Orientation, you do NOT need to attend another one. Please email with any questions. We really hope to see you there!
