Join us for this hands-on professional development experience to build your:

This unprecedented, immersive training experience will provide youth-serving professionals with technology, tools & techniques to raise your youth engagement game. In this full-day interactive workshop, you will have an opportunity to practice and interact with others about strategies to more successfully engage and partner with youth.

ABOUT THE TRAINERS:

April Hoogasian is the Director of Training and Consulting Services (TCS) for Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) and has been with YLI for over 8 years. April has a deep passion for creating healthy communities that are fueled by grassroots leadership and collaboration. Through her work with YLI, she has trained over 40 urban, suburban, and rural communities throughout the nation reaching thousands of youth and adult allies. April has expertise in participatory facilitation, youth-led action research, youth leadership development, youth-led community change campaigns, and building equitable and effective youth and adult teams. April lives in Fresno, CA with her partner Matt and baby daughter, River. She loves gardening, photography, and is learning to play the baritone ukulele. Eric Rowles is a nationally recognized trainer, speaker, and consultant who has worked with over 150,000 youth, adults, administrators, professionals, and policy makers within the past 15 years. His presentations on youth culture, substance abuse prevention, and workforce development are legendary – by combining the energy and innovation of a master trainer, while at the same time reaching each of us through his stories, research, and on-the-ground strategies. Eric is the CEO/President of Leading to Change, and was the former Senior Director of Training for the Youth Leadership Institute, Director of Leadership Development at Rutgers University, and has served as faculty for Central Connecticut State University and the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.
