Event description

Description

Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) a strengths-based, neurobiologically-grounded approach that provides concrete guideposts to operationalize trauma-informed care, empowering youth and family voice. The CPS model is based on the philosophy that kids do well if they can; CPS builds the thinking skills of both youth and caregivers, helping them solve problems independently. CPS targets criminogenic risk factors, and prevents and mitigates Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), by building and sustaining protective and resiliency factors.

Please join us for a Lunch and Learn to understand the philosophy behind this Evidence Based Practice, which is implemented throughout Youth Villages’ programs in Tennessee. This training is open to the community, but is targeted to the following types of professionals working with children and their families: probation officers, judges, juvenile court staff/liaisons, family service workers, and school personnel.
