Event description

Description

Why is it important to have the conversation with young people about Domestic Violence. People sometimes discard the conversation as unimportant when it comes to domestic violence. This is probably because they think that it does not affect them at this point but that is so far from the truth. Its actually more important at this age to have the conversation than any other age. I will use an analogy of a tree. When a tree is first planted it is shaping its position. It is put into the ground at a 90 degree angel but through circumstances like wind and other elements around it can cause that tree to alter from its original position. This is true for our youth, society can cause them to bend from their original values and concepts that the were raised with. Abuse is inevitable without correct teaching. Love doesn’t hurt and Hurt People; Hurt People! We have to teach our young people what love looks like! One thing that I see that affects me is when you men push, play tap and shove young ladies. This may not seem like a big deal but this is the starting point. Young ladies are like flowers and they should be handled gently and they have to know this. As adults we are responsible to constantly reinforce in the minds of our young people that LOVE DOESNT HURT! Emotionally, Physically or Mentally. If it hurts, its not LOVE! Join us on April 28th 2017 for our YOUTH SYMOPSIUM! Lets talk about it!
