Event description

Description

Youth Program: Horseback riding

Ages 8 - 12

Whether you’re a beginner or intermediate rider, our experienced instructors will teach you the skills you need to build confidence on the back of a horse. You’ll learn how to care for our campus horses by helping with feeding, grooming, and mucking stalls. You will have extensive riding and equine programs, giving you plenty of time to build and develop your horsemanship skills. Riding sessions will include time riding on our mountain trails as well as skill-based lessons in the arena.

Riding workshops will be interspersed with a range of other activities around our mountain campus. Hike up to a mountain view, take canoes onto the lake, and help cook meals. You will share rooms with other students in our lakeside Eileen Rockefeller House (RockE House) and enjoy fresh meals prepared using ingredients from our farm.
