DESCRIPTION

Youth Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based 8-hour training for adults who work with young people ages 12 to 18, including social workers, nurses, coaches, after school staff, lunch staff, bus drivers, leaders of faith-based communities, juvenile corrrections and other caring adults who work with youth.

By the end of the training you will:

  • Understand the prevalence and impact of mental health challenges on youth.

  • Identify symptoms, possible risk factors and warning signs of depression, anxiety and suicide.

  • Identify youth protective factors and components of resiliency.

  • Implement the 5-Step Mental Health First Action plan.
