About this event

MHFA teaches participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health illnesses and substance use disorders. These courses cover common signs and symptoms of mental illness, substance use, and how to interact with a person in crisis. In addition, MHFA trains participants in assessing for risk of suicide or harm, how to encourage self-help, and professional help to those in need. Employers, employees, first-responders, social services, hospital staff, educators, and all members of the community can benefit from this training!

Adult Mental Health First Aid (aMHFA) teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults.

Youth Mental Health First Aid (yMHFA) teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adolescents ages 12-18. You’ll build skills and confidence you need to reach out and provide initial support to young people who are struggling. You’ll also learn how to help connect them to appropriate support.

Each participant that completes the training will receive a certification of completion.
