Description

Why Youth Mental Health First Aid? This training teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. This 8-hour training gives adults who work with youth (ages 12-18) the skills they need to reach ut and provide initial support to adolescents/ youth adults who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.

Who Is the Audience for YMHFA First Responder Training? Anyone intersted interested in helping youth ages 12-18. This includes school personnel, teachers, coachces, youth group leaders, parents, family advocates, probation officers or faith communities.

The 8-Hour Free Training (a $170 value) is made possible by the generous support of Peg's Foundation, The Summit County ADM Board, Ohio Mental Health Network for School Success, Project Aware, The County of Summit and a host of other community partners. Each participant will recieve a training manual and certificate of attendance. Lunch and light refreshments included.
