Please note this training will take place over two days: Tuesday, April 30, 2019 AND Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Each days class will take place from 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. You must attend both days to recieve credit.

Description:

Youth Mental Health First Aid USA is an 8 hour public education program which introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. Mental Health First Aid uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis; select interventions and provide initial help; and connect young people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Please arrive on-time and dressed in preparation for temperature fluctuations that may occur in the training room. Coffee and water will be provided. There will be two fifteen minute breaks offered during the day along with a half hour for lunch. Lunch will not be provided. Please feel free to bring any food items you may require during the training.

CERTIFICATIONS & CONTINUING EDUCATION:

Montgomery County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services has been approved by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board to offer continuing education credit hours to Counselors and Social Workers (Provider #RCS111304) and has approved this training for 8 hours of CEUs.

Montgomery County ADAMHS has been approved by the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board to offer continuing education credit hours. Chemical Dependency Counselors and Preventionists can receive 8 hours of continuing education for completing the full 8 hours of ADULT Mental Health First Aid. For Chemical Dependency Professionals, the training meets the following Subject Content Area Classifications: C1 (1 hrs.); C2 (2.5 hrs.); C4 (2.5 hrs.); C6 (0.5 hrs.) and C7 (1.5 hrs.). For Prevention Professionals, P2 (4HR) &P6 (4HR). (Provider #50-17863)

Parking Information:

Parking** Due to limited space in the building’s parking lot; ADAMHS requests that you park in the city parking garage located at 405 Water Street (45402) which is accessible by turning at the traffic light located at the intersection of East Monument Ave. and Water Street.

If the garage is full, you may park in the west parking lot (across Water Street from ADAMHS) but you must print your Eventbrite ticket and place it on your dashboard.

To access 409 Monument Avenue, cross Water Street; and head towards the four-story brick building in front of you. The entrance is to the left of the window that has signage for Bridge Credit Union. Once inside the building take the elevator to the 2nd floor Training Suite.
