Indian Community Outreach is excited to partner with KidsMatter to offer Youth Mental Health First Aid
Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders in youth. This 5-hour training gives adults who work with youth the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to children and adolescents (ages 6-18) who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.
How Blended MHFA Works: Participants will complete a required 2 hours of online self-paced coursework PRIOR to the 5.5 hours 5 - 5.5 hours IN-PERSON Instructor-led class.
Sponsored by KidsMatter through a grant from Edward-Elmhurst Health Community Investment Fund.

• Online Participant Processing Guide and resources
• 3 Year MHFA certification
• 6 CEU's (LCPC/LPC, LCSW/LSW, LMFT and Psychologist) for a $50 Fee
Prior to the training, you will be enrolled in the pre-work required for the class and will receive an email providing you the information to complete the pre-work. This pre-work needs to be completed 24 hrs to the In-Person Instructor led portion of this course.
