Event description

Description

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by United Nations (UN) Member States in September 2015 to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure human rights and prosperous and fulfilling lives for all by 2030. The SDGs themselves are very inclusive, allowing youth a distinct role in the process of implementing the 17 Goals and in addressing challenges specific to their respective age groups. Concerted efforts are needed to identify their needs and incorporate their voices in ways most appropriate to their respective engagement channels and specific challenges. The youth dialogue will serve as a review progress on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals in Nigeria as we head into the 2nd year of the SDGs by January 2018.

The four hours Impact Story Sharing session will focus on the following SDGs: Goal 1: End poverty in all its forms everywhere;

Goal 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture;
Goal 4: Achieve inclusive and quality education for all
Goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls;
Goal 8: Promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full
and productive employment and decent work for all, and
Goal 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
