This course is for youth entering grades 6-9 in the 2019/2020 school year only.

About Stokes Summer Programs

At Stokes, we focus on bringing our natural world to everyone through adventures and experiences in Logan Canyon. All of our programs are built to support students in exploring new places and learning new things about our local ecosystem.

Join us in 2019 as we hike, learn, and have fun in our National Forest!


Our Summer Programs’ mission is to connect youth to our local ecosystem through fun, informative, and inspiring experiences in Cache National Forest.

Registration Information

Registration will open on Monday, March 11th at 8am MST and will be online only.

Course spots are given on a first-come, first-served basis. If confirmed for course, you will be prompted to submit camper paperwork, available at the bottom of this page, within one week.

Payment and all participant paperwork is due within one week of confirmation. Payment by check is preferred. Participant paperwork due includes: Health and Emergency Contact Form, and Participant Agreement Form. Failure to submit payment and paperwork by this deadline will result in the forfeiture of your course spot.

Registration will close on Monday, April 8 at 5pm MDT.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Our cancellation and refund policy is as stated below:

  • 6 weeks or more before course- Full refund
  • 5 weeks before course- 75% refund
  • 4 weeks before course- 50% refund
  • Less than 4 weeks before course- No refund

Our Instructors

We hire experienced educators to lead all of our courses at Stokes. Each group of campers has 2 dedicated instructors. Our instructors are hand-picked because of their experience, knowledge, and dedication to quality education. They are school teachers, environmental educators, scientists, university professors, and more! All instructors have previous experience working with youth, wilderness safety and first aid training, and a joy for what they do.

Wednesday of Course Schedule

Monday will kick off with a Parent Orientation from 8-8:30am the first day only. We will be going over schedules, meeting staff, and answering any questions. Please be sure to attend!

Weekly Schedule

Pick-up and drop-off location will be announced at a later date.

On Wednesday, students will go to Blacksmith Fork River to learn about stream monitoring

On Thursday, students will be at Willow Park learning about tying flies and fly casting

On Friday, students will be west of Smithfield using their new skills on the water.

Students need to be prepared for each day with layers, lunch, and water, and dressed to be wading in the water on Wednesday and Friday.
