Event description
Building a youth engagement plan for York Hills' mental health services

About this Event

Through a generous grant from RBC, The New Mentality, the Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health, and York Hills Centre for Children, Youth and Families have collaborated to host an event called Youth Engagement: Becoming agents of change.

This event will provide community members, youth, and service providers with a space to learn about the principles of youth engagement and how to apply these principles into daily practice, whether it be from the perspective of a young person seeking opportunities to improve the mental health system or a service provider wanting more tools to work with youth effectively. In addition to youth engagement training, the participants in this forum will co-develop the vision and plan for youth engagement at York Hills’ mental health services and how to more broadly strengthen youth engagement in the region.

In order to do this in a way that remains true to genuine youth engagement, young people must be at the forefront of the visioning and development processes. In this spirit, youth will come together the evening before this event to connect with one another and to get comfortable with the topic of youth engagement before the full day event. Pre-event details are to be determined!

We look forward to hosting a space for youth, young adults, service providers, and community partners to come together and collaborate to make the mental health system work better.
