ABOUT YOUTH COMMUNICATION

Since 1980, Youth Communication has run an award-winning writing program for New York City teens that allows them to find their voice by sharing personal stories about overcoming adversity.

Story topics range from gender identity, girls’ empowerment, positive masculinity, juvenile incarceration, foster care, work readiness, resilience, mental illness, and discrimination.

By publishing their stories in YC’s magazines and anthologies, our teen writers reach thousands of their peers across the country and offer real-life inspiration to make positive changes.
