Description

Welcome back to another summer of youth coding education! Here are the options for the week of June 17-21.

  • Creating with Code: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

  • Code to Compete: 1 - 4 p.m.

  • All day option: Campers can attend both Code to Compete and Creating with Code, with supervision from 12 - 1 p.m. giving campers time to eat a lunch they bring from home.

If your camper only wants to attend Code to Compete or Creating with Code, purchase the ticket for that camp. If your camper wants to attend both camps for a full day of coding fun, please purchase the All-Day ticket, which includes both camps as well as lunchtime supervision. Campers are responsible for bringing their lunch to eat during the lunch hour. Campers can be dropped off up to 15 minutes prior to the start of camp, and campers must be picked up no later than 15 minutes after the end of each camp.

Creating with Code

In Creating with Code, basic coding skills are taught using markers and robots. Students will work in small groups to put together a dynamic piece of art that uses code and Evo robots. Daily activities will include computer science unplugged activities, basic coding skill development and work on a group project. A snack will be served each day and kids will receive a camp t-shirt.

Coding skills gained: Functions, sequences, events, debugging and more. Creating with Code is appropriate for ages 8-10, or incoming grades 3-5, with no prior coding knowledge necessary. If your camper participated in Coding with Evo last summer, there will be brand new material in Creating with Code!

Creating with Code Session 1 runs June 17 - 21 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. If this session doesn't work for your schedule, don't worry, it's also offered the week prior, June 10 - 14, from 1 - 4 p.m.! To register for this camp, please purchase the "Creating with Code Session 2 June 17-21" ticket.

Code to Compete

In Code to Compete, basic coding skills are taught using Finch robots. Students will work in small groups to code their Finch to play soccer, guide their robot through a Ninja Warrior-esque obstacle course, and more, all using code. Daily activities will include computer science unplugged activities, coding skill development and work on a group project. A snack will be served each day and kids will receive a camp t-shirt.

Coding skills gained: Functions, sequences, events, conditionals, loops, debugging. Code to Compete is appropriate for ages 8-10 or incoming grades 3-5 with no prior coding knowledge necessary. If your camper did Coding with the Finch last summer, there will be new material in Code to Compete!

Code to Compete Session 1 runs June 10-14 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. If this session doesn't work for your schedule, don't worry, it's also offered the following week, June 17-21, from 1 - 4 p.m.! To register for this camp, please purchase the "Code to Compete Session 1 June 10-14" ticket.
