The Youth at Risk Training Package has been created to assist those who work with young people who are exposed to injecting drug use and prone to hepatitis C transmission.
In 2014 there were almost 350 notifications of Hepatitis C in people under the age of 25 living in NSW. An estimated 90% of all new Hepatitis C cases in Australia are linked to injecting drug use, which is indicative of a small but significant group of young people currently acquiring blood borne viruses through injecting drug use.
